To provid communities with access to safe water SHRISTY GRAM DEVELOPMENT under takes various activities. This includes developing water safety plans, installing deep tube wells, testing water quality and providing lons for tube well platfrom construction.Arsenic and saling-prone areas are prioritised in such cases. Alternative water technologies, such as arsenic removal filters, pond sand filters and piped water supply systems are also provided in order to ensure safe water in those areas.

DEEP TUBE WELL:

..............................

Safe water supply is a critical issue due to highly arsenic contaminted ground water in INDIA. As a result, demand for it is much higher than its supply. Deep tube well is the most suitable. Safe water option as it a affordable and user-friendly.In order to ensure sustainability and ownership in the community.

Laboratory analysis of the quality of water is down before installing the tube wells and after handing them over to the community. It the lest shows arsenic. Contamination then the tube well is sealed off and people are restricted from using the water for drinking and cooking.

Save Water Save Life

Water. This word, to a scientist or a student, means a compound made up of hydrogen and oxygen. But to the rank and file, water is not just so. For them, water is life. It is well known that presence of water in liquid state is one of the reasons for the existence of life on the planet earth.Well, water has got a number of uses in our day to day life.We use it to quench our thirst, to irrigate the plants,to wash our clothes,to cook food and so on.Without water, our life seems to come to a stop, like in case of draught. But,at the same time, excess of water puts us in jeopardy in the form of flood. We humans have been accustomed to waste this precious natural resource. We don't close the taps after using them. We use showers instead of buckets. We use pipes to wash our vehicles. As a consequence,we face the acute dearth of water in summer season. The ground water level water goes so down that we are compelled to use submersible many people die out of the unavailability of water. But still,we don't confess. We continuously waste water.Rather,we must acknowledge our mistake and take the necessary steps to minimize the scarcity of water. We must close the taps after use. We must use the waste water generated from washing machines to clean floors or to irrigate the plants in the garden. We must use buckets and mugs to bathe. We must switch to rainwater harvesting so that even in the adverse times,we have some stock of water. There are many other issues related to water apart from its wastage,e.g its indiscriminate pollution. Many rivers in India, which are considered to be quite sacred, are very polluted today.Yamuna,Ganga are some of them.People wash clothes near the banks of rivers, domestic as well as industrial wastes are dumped in the rivers without proper treatment.During festivals like Dussehra, idols of gods and goddesses are also submerged in the rivers.Apart from these, many religious rituals are performed on the river banks. All these contribute to the pollution of water. Its a fact that no matter how many commissions and plans are made for the protection of rivers will remain polluted until and unless the normal people are made aware about pollution and its detrimental effects. However, recently some celebrities have come forward to help in the cleaning of rivers. Some weeks ago,Priyanka chopra under a program was seen cleaning the river Yamuna behind the Taj in Agra.If such programs continue on a large scale, then the day is not far away when the scale of pollution in Indian rivers will fall like anything.

So, SAVE WATER,BECAUSE IT SAVES LIFE.
